How Do I Become A Jacob Wismer Volunteer?

All Beaverton School District (BSD) volunteers are required to clear a background check.

This can be completed by filling out an application on the BSD website (details below).

Returning BSD volunteers:

Please note that the background check is performed every two years so if you had a background check done in the past school year, then you need not apply again.

1. Apply for a background check with Beaverton School District :

a. Go to the following link

https://www.beaverton.k12.or.us/departments/communications-community-involvement/volunteer

b. Select an application. If you are a parent or guardian, you should click on the “Parent/Guardian Volunteer and Background Check Application” link. If you are a relative, family friend or community member, you should click on the “Community Volunteer and Background Check Application” link.

c. Make sure to create a username you can remember! You will need to enter your user name and password every time you log into the system and every time you log in at school.

d. Please make sure to list Jacob Wismer as your school and add your child’s grade into your information. This will ensure you get all the class specific info/mailings as well as the school-wide information.

2. Access the Myvolunteerpage.com for Jacob Wismer.

a. Once your background check is complete and Jacob Wismer is assigned to your profile, you will receive an email from BSD with your approval status and your volunteer profile at myvolunteerpage.com will be active.

b. You will also receive an email from the Jacob Wismer PTO. This email will provide you with access to the Jacob Wismer volunteer page opportunities. All volunteer opportunities will be listed on this page – please check it often. This email will also provide information on the availability of your Jacob Wismer volunteer badge.

3. Signing in at the front office is required every time you visit the school and volunteer.

a. A pink volunteer name-tag is also required to be in the school. The PTO will create a pink volunteer badge for you that will be available in the school office (in a drawer next to the log in computer). Please wear this badge and sign in at the computer every time you check in for a volunteer event.

b. Please keep the badge with you in a safe and accessible place. You will not be allowed to volunteer without displaying this unique volunteer badge.

If you have any questions about the Volunteer System, please contact the PTO Volunteer Coordinator at volcoord@jacobwismerpto.org
