General School Support

These volunteers will help school staff, freeing up their time to focus on student and school-related matters.  The time commitment for most activities usually varies between one to two hours or less per task.

Library Help

Volunteers assist the Media Specialist in the Library by shelving books, preparing books for check out, and performing other miscellaneous tasks.

Office Help

Volunteers who indicate they are interested in helping in the school office will be contacted throughout the year when the office staff has projects and tasks that need to be completed.

Recess Assistance

Volunteers supervise students during organized lunch recess sports activities.

Lost & Found

Volunteers help sort and organize the Lost and Found cabinet downstairs near the Cafeteria at Jacob Wismer. Volunteers also assist with moving the Lost and Found cabinet items upstairs and laying them out on tables during conferences and other school events, so families can easily access and look through them.

Kindergarten & First Grade Lunch Help

This is one of the first volunteer opportunities of the year. We need help assisting the first graders with buying lunch, recycling, and maybe opening a few milk cartons. Your help would be much appreciated during the first couple of weeks of school.

Staff Appreciation

Volunteers assist with staff appreciation events throughout the school year. The events include staff lunches, staff appreciation week and various other activities.

Volunteer Name Tags

Volunteers make name tags for all volunteers as needed throughout the year.

New Family Welcome

Volunteers act as liaisons between the school and new families at Jacob Wismer. Volunteers with multilingual skills are especially needed to welcome new families who do not speak English.
